Welcome!

Your Dose of Lunacy is a blog about weird (generally internet) finds.  It's: a fun ride, sometimes NSFW (Not Safe for Work viewing) and often contains profanities.

Here is a sample post from the blog:

"Is There a Special Ringtone for This Too?"

I had a look through the App Store the other day and found the most...
Hmmmm...

Well, it's...

Never mind. Let's just look at some screencaps.

(Note: these are all actual screenshots from the app. Really.)

OK... So someone's attacking you and you have the time/ability to reach into your purse or pocket and grab your phone, unlock it and click around on it.

And your attacker doesn't notice that you're doing this.

Is he on Quaaludes?  Distracted by the shiny rhinestones on your smartphone? Has he run out of batteries?  WTF?!

And how is your doing all this easier, faster or better than dialing 911 in the first place?

"Welcome to I'm Being Assaulted."

Hey, thanks!

Huh? This is the message you're apparently sending? Ending with: "Tell my family I love them very much."  Well, that's optimistic!

Also, where's the call to action here? I mean, if you're being assaulted and choose to use this fucktarded device, wouldn't a clear, direct instruction be in order?

Like:
"JESUS TIBERIUS BREAKDANCING CHRIST: I AM BEING ATTACKED!!!!
ADAM, CALL THE FUCKING POLICE PRONTO!"
No, instead it's:
"Hey, this app is here to tell you I'm being attacked. So, it's letting you know that I am now being attacked.

Oh, and you're my contact person in case this happens.  Did I forget to tell you that? My bad.

Anyhoooooo...  I'm around Park and Tilford.  Soooooo.....

Well, enough about me. How'd your talk with your boss go yesterday?  Did you get that promotion? "

Hmm.

"Hey, you?  Sorry, I know you're focused on getting your pants undone, but if I could just have a second of your time?  Thanks.  Am I being assaulted?
Ah, that's what I thought. Cheers!"

This product is so awesome! It's totally going to replace my old notification method: ecards.
